Autum

Rich has taken a few days off this week. We have been mucking around having a nice famly time. He has been ultra busy recently so it has been a treat to relax and do nothing stressy. The weather has been perfect so we having been going for plenty of walks. Today it was along Merri Creek via the playground to drop sticks from the bridge (Pooh Sticks is the offical name of this activity invented by Winnie the Pooh) and then on to feed the ducks.

Rituals

When I get time I like to spend a few mins preparing Winter's room before he goes to bed. I set up his toys as if they have been up to something whilst he has been gone.

I want bed time to be a nice thing and to make his room seem magical.

Family fun

We had a lovely Easter evening with Granny Liz and Grandfather. They caught the train and met us at the playground for a champagne BBQ and play session.

New habit

Yesterday Winter was hasseling me for a taste of my tea. I handed my camomile brew over thinking 'he'll hate this'. I was wrong, he said 'mmm mummy's tea NICE'! This morning when he saw me with my tea he asked for his own cup. He drank the whole lot.

Relaxing

Palomino is a favorite nearby cafe. Great retro horse themed styling, yummy homemade food and funky staff. Another reason to visit regularly is their back garden, more retro garden furniture, horses, potted succulents and best of all some strategically chosen toys (the owner has a son called Sailor, same age as Winter). Happy son - tick, happy parents - tick, everybody's happy.

Crazy

Bindi was visiting from London recently to get married. These photos are from her hen's night. We went to a fancy French resturant in the city (note the petite food portions).

The gang

Bindi had a list of tasks to complete before she was alowed to leave. They ranged from collecting drink coasters to cutting the label out of a guys pants. Here she is diligently studying her list and testing the sissors provided.

I was the first to leave a 11, (in the hope of a couple of hours sleep before Baxters 2am feed). At this stage Bindi was downing a shot of Absinthe. It was a treat to get out and spend time with the girls - it was the first time I'd been out this year.
