Party II

Nearly all the kids dressed up and I wish had more photos. Here is a lovely one of Daisy and Hugo-a-go-go.

Granny Ros made a magnificent pirate ship chocolate cake complete with birthday greetings on the sails (this is the rear view so that cleverness is obscured) and lifesaver portholes, floating in a blueberry & strawberry sea. Winter was gobsmaked!

dealing out the cake requires expert negotiating skills

unfortunately the sliver monster was moulted most of his tassles over the couse of the party (NB stiching would have been a better option than stapelling)

Party!

Birthday boy comandeering the jumpping castle (borrowed from a friend, a JC is Winter's ultimate activity and a bit hit at the party)

Winter's birthday convieniently fell on a Saturday, so we had the party that day. Mum had sat up till midnight the night before making costumes. Winter the silver tassled monster looked very fabulous and scary but sadly he wasn't feeling the headware and refused to don the complete look. Baxi the silver bee was more into his headware but mum didn't get enough of a window to capture the antena in its full glory. It was 33 degrees so we will forgive the stars for being a little diva-ish.

Baxi looked super cute

Present

We wrapped Winter's giant present in some sheets.

Underneath was a train table with a draw full of trains (clever daddy did some forward planning and scored it on ebay). The boys love it and can happily play on either side of the table without getting in each other's way.

audience

Winter and Satchmo have been captivated by plenty of building action at out joint last week. The carpenter has been re-building the verandah and replacing weatherboards etc in preperation for painting the exterior of the house. Lucky for them work continues this week.

luggage

The other morning Winter found a clever way of bringing both bear and bear's current girlfriend to the coffee shop (pink polar bear incidently was transformed from a bunny into dodgy bear form one panicky afternoon when i thought bear was lost).

safe and sound and easy cuddle access

outfit note - Winter is sporting an EMO look this Autum

Invite

Here is Winter's invitation to his 3rd Birthday party in a couple of weeks

Setting up the delightful photo required a team of engineers and hours of planning, sticky taping, trial runs, repairing, ego stroking, cajoling and general child wrangling jiggery pokery

Baxi looked very cute as a robot bee sidekick but sadly didn't make the final shot. It was too much of a debacle co-ordinating intact costumes and creatures posing in same place at same time cheerfully.
