cuddly!
I couldn't resist taking some photos of Winter when I found him curled up alseep on top of his umbrella. He had insisted on taking it into the bedroom at nap time. Winter likes to have some time to himself before getting into bed at lunchtime and this is what eventuated . I didn't use the flash for fear of disturbing him so I hope they arnt too dark to make out.
comfy! note despite Winter's obvious affection for his umbrella, bear is still in pole position under his chin.
Its nice to find games that the boys can enjoy together. This is our favorite on at the moment. Its called 'Blanket Train'. Mum drags them both up and down the hallway stopping at stations (rooms) where we pick up passengers. Winter has to get back on the train before it takes off again.
At this stop the dump truck wanted to get on. Unfortunately my pelvis is still a bit dodgy so we cant play it for too long.
Winter recently became the proud owner of a 'Likebike'. It's also called a 'balance bike' as it doesn't have pedals (or training wheels). The driver uses their feet to get up speed then cruises along learning how to balance. Kids can then progress to a normal bike bypassing training wheels.
they are sold in a shop in Northcote and lots of local kids burn around on them. Winter was a bit cool about the bike at first but after a couple of weeks of practice has come around to it with a vengeance. He loves it because he has total control over it. He can pick it up and maneuver it all on his own as its light and streamlined.
Today he decided to take it for a spin at the skate park next to the playground where we were playing. He fearlessly bowled on over and marked out his territory. Not surprisingly a small but steep ramp took his fancy. He saw the way the skaters would practice a move over and over and applied this to his ramp.
The big boys were impressed but Mum & Dad were a little weak at the knees (Dad ran to the car to get his helmet, note the street puppy dog helmet was a Richie purchase!)
for his next trick Winter decides to climb all over the pusher and we have a teary head bump moment. meanwhile Baxi the quiet achiever has nabbed mum's phone.
Winter has been refusing to have a bath recently. In order to remedy this we have been coming up with creative bathtime ideas. Tonight it was 'Night Time Bath'.
Incase anyone has any safety concerns, rest assured its a waterproof torch!
After the nose debarcle I was trying to hurry Winter out the door. Sensing this he helpfully lodged himself in his hiding spot under the bench where I cant reach him.
Winter shoved playdough up his nose just as we were rushing out of the house to meet a friend this morning. I didn't actually know it was playdough untill later when the bright green pellet above was finally dislodged. He came running to me crying hysterically pointing to his nose and holding his ear with water streaming out of his eyes. somehow I worked out that there was something up there and tried not to panic. I quickly found a device we have for extracting snot from baby noses (the base had become a plaything for Baxter so this was no easy task to locate amongst the usual toy squalor).
Ths snot remover facinated Winter and he refused to let me use it despite his distress. He wanted to be in charge of the nose tool. After further scuffles and tears. I stood back and let him be the boss. He perked up and I calmed myself by photographing him. After a short while the fluro green culprit emered. Emergency over.
