Busy
2 days till we get the keys for our new house
2 weeks till we move in
4 weeks till Christmas
5 weeks till Bongo is Due
Its 2 years since we moved to Aus from London, stationing ourselves in Sydney. At the time I was pregnant with Winter and we had less than 2 months to find our feet in a new city, work out where to live, find a place to rent, furnish it (we had nothing), buy baby stuff and move in. It was no wonder my hospital bag wasn't packed when I went into labour! Four months later we were forced to move again (just around the corner thankfully) when were told that our building was to be re-furbished.
We managed to stay put for a year after that before falling pregnant again and deciding we needed to move closer to our families in Melbourne. It was a tough decision as we loved Sydney and were feeling settled, enjoying the friendships we had formed. Sydney to Melbourne wasn't as far as London to Aus but it was still a big upheaval as its been 10 years since we lived in our home town. We found a 4 mth let in Yarraville (never been there before now!) and furiously looked for somewhere to buy in that time, knowing we needed to settle before Bongo arrived.
At the 11th hour we bought our new house in Northcote and once this final move is over, hope to never see a cardboard box again! Its been a long journey from Spitalfeilds to Northcote.

New Hobby
Mum has been trawling through ebay lately, egar to feather the new nest. This desk was a recent win. Winter likes it, it's much more grown up than eating in the highchair.
Playmate
Winter loves playing with his friend Daisy. Daisy is old enough (4) to be patient with his toddler ways but still enjoys being silly. It is a treat to watch as he is too young to play like this with others his own age. They generally just snatch toys and push each other around. Today Daisy and Winter ran around giggling deliriously for a good 2 hrs whilst the parents relaxed at The Footscray Arts Centre.

We spent lots of time over our weekend away at this playground overlooking Sorrento foreshore.
It was such a beautiful spot to hang out that we paused to take some portraits.
We didn't realise until later that Rich & I had matching outfits on!

Pianola
We spent some time with the grandparents down at their beach house in Sorrento this weekend. In the front room there is a lovely old pianola and a vast collection of music rolls featuring everything from the Beatles through Mozart to 'The Teddy Bear's Picnic'. Winter seemed captivated, happy to be seranaded whilst quietly sitting on Grandfather's knee.
Grandfather was delighted to find a willing audience.

Miaoww
3 days ago Winter received a parcel from London. Inside was a special velvet catsuit and some facepaint from Godmother Livvie. Godmother has been watching the blog closely and knows exactally what's hot in Winter's world right now. Dressing up, cats, tails, this pressie ticks every box! Winter hasn't taken it off!

Shared interest
Winter & I have recently discovered the joy of sharing an icy chocolate milkshake. Its nice to find activities we can both benefit from. The only problem with this new habit is that Winter goes a little loco afterwards from the sugar hit. Hasty exits are usually required in order to 'shake it out' at the park.
