Big Hit!
We journeyed to leafy Templestow to visit Rich's folks this morning. Family pets Duffy the poodle & Harry the budgie get a big work out on such occasions. After breakfast together we hit the big sandpit at a nearby playground.
someone had kindly donated a collection of wood pieces to the pit, inspiring a game of block tower building

precariously balanced structures were crafted so that dear grandson could delight in bashing them down
this was popular

Shudder
After a lifetime of being a pretentious, style obssesed type. I have had to lower my standards recently to accomodate the needs of others.
Its hard to believe but these types of things actually really do appeal to 1.5yr olds. Winter delights in pointing out the different characters, the gawdier the better. Lucky he's cute.

6 Pack
This morning Winter found Dad's beer stash (note cute new top which we had just been admiring in the mirror together & the reason why the cammera was out).

After pushing it around the house on the ground (making 'brooom' noises) he decided to make life easier by adding some wheels.
He gave up on that game after hitting a road block

Robot
Last week we had some bad weather and needed some indoor entertainment so I emptyed out the recycling box with the idea of making a robot with Winter.
As you can see from the dodgy nature of the end result, it wasn't a very flash piece of engineering.
The trouble I had was that Winter wanted to pull it apart as we made it. He didn't appreciate the goal of the exercise.
Instead he decided that the best idea was to remove the eyes, attach them to his head, and jump on the bed manically whilst watching himself in the mirror!

Close call
I nearly didn't notice my phone in the dishwasher yesterday. It looked perfectly at home nestled into the grey cutlery compartment.
Little discoveries like this make life with Winter entertaining. Sometimes they can even make the neverending, mindnumbingly repetitive housework chore routine slightly more bearable!

Good & Bad
The good news is we bought a house yesterday!
There were 3 auctions we planned to bid at depending on what price they went for. Rich and Dad went to the first one whilst I put Winter to bed. I didn't think it would matter if I missed it as I felt sure it would go out of our price range. It was gorgeous, in a great area but needing a lot of work done to it. I had planned to go and bid at another auction whilst Rich went to the 3rd one which was on at the same time. I didn't make it however as the boys bought the first house! They payed a little more than we had planned on especially as we hadn't had a building report done (it will need a lot of money spent on renovations which we will have to save up for and do gradually). Dad hadn't seen this house and fell in love with it on the day. He encouraged Rich to buy it (Dad bid on our behalf). Rich nearly fainted as it started to look like we'd win. I was shocked to get a call saying they'd won as I really loved this house but had totally discounted winning it. We are now feeling very puffy and proud to own such a lovely place. We are also a little scared as it is rather wonky with plaster falling down from the ceiling. A building report will let us know more about what we are in for, in the meantime I will be trying to find a hard-hat small enough for Bongo. We take possesion in 45 days!
The bad news is that Blogger is having problems uploading photos so I can't share the photos at this stage (although1 shot of the garden has half uploaded in the previous post).
I am feeling frustrated about this as I have a number of photos that I can't put up. Will be back posting as soon as blogger sorts out this problem.

Tail
We had a v hot day during the week with a top of 36.5 degrees. It was too hot to be outside so we spent the afternoon sheltering under the aircon. To help keep Winter entertained I made a tail out of a pair of stockings and attached some ears to a nappy. He was thrilled & kept it on all day. We worked well as a couple with me sporting a maternity bra, green undies & big belly(sadly no photo of me)

Sink
Things were suspiciously quiet tonight when I was making Winter's dinner. On investigation I was suprised to find him sitting in the bathroom sink!
He often moves a chair to the sink so he can climb up, stand on it and 'clean his teeth' (muck around with water), however this is the first time he has discovered he can go 1 step further.

Turns out its a great positon to clean his shoes
and get his hands on mum's special out of reach stuff
here he is admiring the big puddle he'd made on the floor by turing to tap to the back of the vanity unit

Good Taste
Winter is starting to show interest in what he wears. He often gets excited when I present him with something new and likes to look at himself in the mirror wearing it. Today he insisted on wearing this fur leopard print vest. We talked about how he looked like a teddy bear and was most impressed with his reflection.

The vest nearly made it to playgroup but he decided to revise his look once the warm weather took effect.
