Bye Bye II

Second stop was our other favourite hangout the local fruit and veggie store. Con and Maria always made us feel welcome to hangout and chew the fat (talking to other adults keeps me sane!). Winter was free to play with the baskets of veggies, stand up on the counter, and even allowed to press cash register buttons (an all-time favorite Winter pastime). There was also lots of traditional Greek exuberant cuddles and cheek squeezing!

Group shot featuring Con, with wife Gemma on my left and on my right, Maria with another small but regular customer Tash. Con would always give Winter a banana or mandarin to eat on the way home.

Maria was Winter's most special friend. She showered him with attention & affection. He gave her long cuddles and lapped up the attention. We have known these guys since Winter was born and wish we could take them to melb with us. It was hard to say goodbye. Posted by Picasa

Bye Bye

It was our last day in Lizzy Bay today. We went to our two favorite hangouts to say farewell.

First stop was the Vinyl Lounge. Louise and the girls always made us feel welcome here. A bucket of toys would be produced on arrival (Winter's fav was a Marky Mark action figure which has since been presented as a going away gift), special allowance would be made if Winter snuck into the kitchen and there was always plenty of fuss and attention to make him feel at home.

Party

We were set to have a playground farewell party this morning for local mum's & bubs. Sadly however, after a week of perfect spring-like weather it was too wet to meet as planned. A small goup of us gathered at the tennis court cafe nearby despite the downpour. We ate popcorn and honey joys and mucked around in the puddles.

Winter got sopping wet (luckily I brought some spare clothes)

Beach II

After the success of our visit the day before, we returned for more sand-castles and shenanegans.

Winter wanted to go swimming and spent a good half hour trying to break past the parental lifeguard

Shenanegans

After the afternoon's land based activities, the boys moved onto the airbourne variety.

Thought i'd include this detail from the pic above in order to point out that this was a popular activity. Posted by Picasa

The Beach

The best thing about jervis Bay is the beach. The expansive coastline boasts perfect white squeaky sand. Accessing the beach required a short walk from our pad past the local kangaroos (Winter was captivated and tried to catch one) then through a picturesque tunnel of bushy scrub.

The idyllic scene was further enhanced by stretches of pink seaweed.

Rich Winter & I enjoyed making sand-castle cubby-holes whilst Crystal went running.

Holiday

Last weekend we went away to Jervis Bay.

Its a 3 hr drive from Sydney.

Winter was very well behaved in the car
